An Application
Replacing Judas was something they intentionally did to fulfill scripture (ACT 1:20). How cool for Peter to personally choose to do so. / They "drew lots" after
praying, first
(ACT 1:26). Compare what the Romans did for Jesus's clothing in MK 15:24.
Connect the Dots
Interesting that Jesus's earthly mother was named in ACT 1:14, and His brothers (MT 13:55, GAL 1:19, JUD 1:1), but no sisters and no father. / Two millennia ago, there was no internet and books were extremely expensive. Speakers weren't obligated to quote word for word to be considered quoting. Peter did this in ACT 1:20 and PS 69:25 & 109:8, and we'll see more in later stories.
